NOTES: This chapel was commissioned to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Built on the foundations of the former Church of Reconciliation located on a strip of no man's land which was demolished in 1985, it is the first rammed earth structure to be built in Germany for 150 years. The rammed earth walls are made up of clay mixed up with the remains of the old church.
